August 2026: almost half of used cars from the US are electric cars and hybrids
In August 2026, almost 4.7 thousand used passenger cars imported from the US joined Ukraine’s car fleet. That is 8% fewer than in August 2025, according to Ukrautoprom.
What people buy
Tesla Model Y — 484 cars;
Tesla Model 3 — 471;
Ford Escape — 408;
BMW X3 — 306;
Nissan Rogue — 266.
By engine type: petrol — 46%, electric — 33%, hybrids — 15%, diesel and LPG — 3% each. The average age of these cars is 5.7 years.
What it means
Demand is shifting towards relatively young crossovers and electrified models. For car imports, this means battery and lot history checks matter more, and for turnover, popular models that find a buyer faster.
